Marset’s Zenc pendant light combines Spanish design with influences from New York. Spanish designer Joan Gaspar got the initial idea for the Zenc lamp, released in 2021, when walking in New York and noticing the numerous rooftop water tanks and their distinctive, conical shapes. New York’s water tanks have been in use since the 19th century and are an essential part of the city’s skyline and cityscape.
The conical shape of the Zenc pendant light seems to be made of metal, but a closer look reveals it is actually made of bi-layer polyethylene. The colored exterior surface is contrasted by the pure white interior, which allows the lamp’s light to be reflected downward as bright and clean as possible. Thanks to its simple yet dynamic shape, the Zenc pendant lamp works excellently both individually and in groups, as well as in private and public contexts.
