Wästberg’s Sempé pendant light was named after its designer, the French Inga Sempé. Made of metal, the minimalist luminaire borrows its form from a push pin and, perhaps a little less obviously, from traditional machine tool lighting used in the metal industry.
The Sempé pendant lamp looks simultaneously weighty and light both in terms of materials and esthetics: the luminaire consists of a curved shade in aluminum decorated with a cleat at the top – a detail that is repeated in other luminaire designs in the Sempé series. In the upgraded version of the luminaire, the shade hides an efficient SMD LED light source that infuses the space with rich full-spectrum light and superior color rendering. Thanks to the advanced SMD technology, the light is always flicker-free and unaffected by the color of the shade. The pendant is dimmable.
