Marimekko's Kurre plate continues Aino-Maija Metsola's animal-inspired designs, joining previous collections that featured beloved patterns like Peura, Ilves and Rusakko. Kurre is a Finnish nickname for "orava," meaning squirrel, and this charming pattern features a lively squirrel family collecting nuts, inspired by the designer's childhood memories.
The 20-centimeter size is ideal as a small dinner plate or serving appetizers and sandwiches, for example. The ceramic Kurre plate is part of the Oiva tableware range, designed by Sami Ruotsalainen, and is easily combinable with monochrome dishware as well as other Marimekko patterns.
