Designer
Giancarlo Mattioli (1933–1985) belongs to the generation of Italian designers that rose to fame in the 1950s and 60s. Perhaps his most famous creation is the Artemide Nesso table lamp, which is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York as well as at numerous other design museums around the world. Mattioli was also involved in founding the Gruppo Architect Urbanisti “Citta Nuova” group together with Pierluigi Cervellat, Umberto Maccaferri, Franco Morell, Gianpaolo Mazzucato and Mario Zaffagnini.
