Sika-Design’s Machiya bench is named after traditional Japanese wooden, which are often built side by side and have wooden lattices on their facades. Designed by Jin Kuramoto, the hand-woven Machiya bench is a combination of classic rattan weave and influences from Japanese esthetics. Under the seat is a small shelf that is perfect for storing for example shoes or magazines. You can also use the stool outside in dry and covered areas.
The Machiya bench is part of the Sika-Design’s Icons collection that features rattan classics from some of the most talented designers of our time.
