The Lieksa dining chair by Made By Choice is a modern take on bent plywood furniture, designed by New York-based Snarkitecture. Despite its distinctive form, the chair has a calm appearance and a surprisingly simple construction: it is crafted from a single piece of birch plywood that splits in the middle to form the front and rear legs.
The Lieksa collection takes its name from Snarkitecture co-founder Alex Mustonen's family roots in the eastern Finnish town of Lieksa. The uneven edges of the furniture are inspired by the typical landscapes of Lieksa, characterized by forested hills and rugged cliffs. The asymmetrical shapes highlight the natural feel of the honey-stained birchwood and showcase the delicate beauty of its grain patterns. The Lieksa series is produced at Made By Choice's own factory in Finland.
