Alessi's kettle 3909 celebrates American design and basketball culture while honoring the memory of the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Created in collaboration with Virgil Abloh Securities, the kettle 3909 is a reimagined version of the Alessi kettle 9093, which was designed by the American architect and designer Michael Graves back in 1985.
In kettle 3909, the original bird-shaped whistle has been replaced with a purple-colored basketball player who notifies you when the water has reached boiling point. Also, the handle and knob are colored in purple. The steel kettle may also be used on induction hobs, and its wide base makes the water heat up faster. This special edition is released as a numbered edition of 9.999 pieces.
