Hashira portable table lamp

Description

Audo Copenhagen’s portable Hashira table lamp is a modern, stripped interpretation of a traditional Japanese rice paper lantern by design duo Norm Architects, Kasper Rønn and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen. The minimalist shade made from a raw linen fabric creates an intriguing contradiction: while it gives the luminaire its sculptural, column-like form together with the visible structure, it also diffuses the light into an extraordinarily soft and ambient glow. The elegant, understated form of the Hashira table lamp fits just as perfectly in the bedroom or living room as it does in public spaces – the rechargeable table lamp is easy to move from room to room, bringing a cozy glow wherever you need it the most. A three-position dimmer helps you adjust the amount of light to suit every situation, space and mood.

The Hashira portable table lamp can be charged using the USB cable included in the package and is also compatible with the Audo Copenhagen Charging Board. For longer battery life, it is recommended to switch the lamp off when charging and not to leave it plugged in while in use.

Norm Architects

Norm Architects is a dynamic design duo composed by the Danish architects Kasper Rønn (b. 1976) and Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen (b. 1976), both graduates of the Royal Danish Academy of fine Arts in Copenhagen. Being true modernists, they believe in design where the focus is in meeting a real need instead of creating one, and this reflects from their work as architects as well as industrial designers.

Though bearing a strong admiration for some of the most pure minimalists, Norm Architects is not easy to categorize. The architects see their work as a part of the Scandinavian modernist tradition – functional, minimal, poetic and timeless – with a profound understanding of natural materials and a special attention to detail. One of their most successful products is the MILK lamp, designed for &Tradition, that combines wood and glass.
