The Grinda chair consists of a wooden seat in teak and a streamlined steel tube frame whose form gives the illusion of the teak slats floating in air. Designed by Matilda Lindblom for Skargaarden, the garden chair is the epitome of modern Nordic design – timeless yet completely contemporary. The wooden parts of the patio chair will eventually turn a gorgeous silvery gray as is characteristic of teak furniture.
Named after an island in the archipelago of Stockholm, the Grinda chair pays homage to two very different figures: the former owner of the island, Henrik Santesson, who was also the first director of the Nobel Foundation, and Marcel Breuer, whose steel tube furniture made him a pioneer of modern furniture design.
