This graceful side table is designed for the AV Egoist chaise longue by Sibast. Attached to the side of the chaise longue, the side table comprises a brass stem and a beautiful solid wood tabletop, which offers just the right amount of space for, say, a good book and a cup of tea or coffee.
Designed by Arne Vodder in the early 1950s, the AV Egoist chair was among the designer’s personal favorites. Only a few pieces of this chaise longue were produced back then, and the entire masterpiece could have been forgotten if it weren’t for the Danish company Sibast reviving it. Based on the original drawings, measurements and photographs, the reinterpretation of the AV Egoist was carried out through the collaboration of Sibast’s designers and Arne Vodder’s son, Michael Vodder. The end result represents genuine mid-modern charm and a classically timeless esthetic that looks fresh and relevant also in contemporary interiors.
