Artek's Aalto stool 60 Celebration is a seat worthy of its name – and for good reason! In 2025, Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek celebrates its 90th anniversary with a collection of special edition pieces. The first of these anniversary collections brings together two cultural icons: Artek’s timeless furniture and the beloved Moomins of Tove Jansson, whose very first Moomin story was published exactly 80 years ago.
The Aalto stool was presented for the first time in 1933 and it was a sensation in the design world of its time with its revolutionary L-lef structure. In honor of the double milestones, the classic stool now features laser-engraved early illustrations and handwritten texts by Tove Jansson, playfully reminiscent of the secret scribbles hidden under an old school desk.
The Artek + Moomin collection is a tribute to Finnish hospitality – often at its best when it's spontaneous and informal. The furniture is designed to make everyone feel welcome because, in a true celebration, even the most unexpected guests belong.
