Nani Marquina
Nani Marquina (b. 1952) is a Spanish designer best known for the modern rugs produced by her namesake company, Nanimarquina. Growing up in a design-oriented family – her father, Rafael Marquina, was a pioneer of industrial design in Spain – she was inspired to pursue a creative career. After graduating from Barcelona's Escuela Massana, she began her career in 1973 at the Sellés-Marquina architecture firm. Her passion for textiles grew over the years, leading her to design her first rugs in the 1980s and establish Nanimarquina in 1987.
Throughout her career, Nani Marquina has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge and FIDEM's Award for Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year.
