Göran Wärff
Göran Wärff (1933 – 2022) was a Swedish glass designer and artist, known for his unique understanding of glass as a liquid material. Throughout his career, Göran was inspired by the sea with its dynamic colors and forms. Wärff's long-standing collaboration with Kosta Boda, a Swedish glass factory, started in the 1960s. His career included periods in Australia and the United Kingdom from 1974 to 1985 before he returned to Sweden. Wärff also taught glass art in Sydney and glass and ceramics at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack). His diverse portfolio includes prestigious public assignments for the Sydney Opera House, the Abu-Dhabi mosque and the Växjö Cathedral, among others, and his designs have been recognized with several awards, including the Lunning Prize and the Excellent Swedish Form for his collection Limelight.
