The Rikyu sideboard was inspired by stilt houses and sliding tatami doors typical of traditional Japanese architecture. The design also carries influences of the harmony and punctuality associated with the Japanese culture; for example, the sliding doors perfectly align with the sideboard’s legs. The storage unit designed by Gabriel Tan offers plenty of storage space and works great also as a media console in the living room.
