Emeco

American furniture manufacturer Emeco (Electric Machine and Equipment Company) is best known for its chairs that are truly made to last. In 1944, Emeco’s founder Wilton Carlyle Dinges designed the ultra-durable 1006 Navy chairs for the U.S. Navy, and later, the chairs found their way into homes, restaurants and hotels around the world. In the 21st century, Emeco’s catalogue has expanded with pieces by iconic designers including Ettore Sottsass, Jasper Morrison and Philippe Starck. Emeco’s products are still manufactured in the US and are mainly made from recycled materials.
