Naoto Niidome

Naoto Niidome is a Finnish designer living and working in Helsinki. He spent his childhood in Japan, his father's homeland, and graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2000, where he studied both interior and furniture design as well as fashion design. Niidome founded his own design studio in 2002. Blending Finnish and Japanese influences, he has designed products for renowned brands such as Marimekko and Nanso, and developed his own clothing line. Niidome won the Finnish Young Designer of the Year award in 2002 and in 2008 together with Nathalie Lahdenmäki.
