Afra Scarpa

Born in Montebelluna, Italy, Afra Scarpa (1937-2011), originally Afra Bianchi, was the wife of Italian designer and architect Tobia Scarpa. Like her husband, Afra studied architecture at the Iuav University of Venice, where she graduated in 1957. Afra and Tobia founded their own firm in Montebelluna in 1960. One of their most famous works was a long collaboration with Benetton – the couple designed both factories and shop interiors for the famous fashion house.
