Description

Normann Copenhagen’s Puff lighting collection features rice paper lamps in a range of playful shapes that are sure to wow their viewers in private residences and public spaces alike. Designed by Saskia Hübner, the lamps are inspired by traditional Asian rice paper lamps yet infused with a touch of modern Nordic style – the lightweight material allows generous proportions without making the luminaires too heavy either literally or visually.

The Puff Twist lampshade has a fun, voluminous form comprising two spheres merged into one peanut-shaped bubble. The rice paper lamp is easy to envision not only as a single luminaire but also as a cluster of gently illuminating bubbles, perhaps in the ceiling of a restaurant or a hotel lobby. Please note that the package only includes the lampshade; a cord set with a canopy is available separately.

Saskia Huebner

Saskia Huebner – or Hübner in its German form – graduated in 2016 from the Münster School of Design. Her studies in Interdisciplinary Design focused on different environments of use and design's place in society, as well as the effects these may have on the design work itself.

Hübner hails from Germany, but moved to Copenhagen after graduation to work for Normann Copenhagen – she worked as a Senior Designer in the brand's own design team for four years before deciding to focus on her own design agency.

Saskia Hübner's design is characterised by minimalist aesthetics and a certain harmony of forms. Due to her educational background, she is interested in everyday functionality, especially in relation to the environments in which the objects might eventually be used. She often seeks inspiration for her design work from just that, everyday life, and from the ways that various objects are used and viewed in the midst of it. Hübner also likes to challenge and question existing designs: why does an object look the way it does?

The product design is fine. The item was shipped without protection and damaged in shipping. I've been emailing FDS for over a week with little to no engagement on how to return the damaged items. What a pain.
