Description

The Nychair X 80 lounge chair is a Japanese design classic that combines a foldable metal frame, a cotton fabric seat and wooden armrests, resulting in an effortlessly light and airy aesthetic. Originally launched in 1980, this minimalist lounge chair features a lower backrest and a higher seat than the original model, making it easy to get up from. The durable sailcloth moulds to the contours of the sitter, and if needed, the entire seat fabric can be cleaned and washed. With its sleek yet incredibly comfortable design, the Nychair X 80 is equally well-suited for lounging or engaging in conversations around a low table, and its foldable backrest allows it to be used as a portable camping chair – please note, however, that the chair is not designed for continuous outdoor use or direct exposure to sunlight.

Designed by Takeshi Nii and first introduced in 1970, the Nychair X has captivated Japanese design enthusiasts for over half a century. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese way of life, the chair's timeless appeal and meticulous craftsmanship have earned praise from around the world, earning the Nychair X prestigious awards such as the Good Design Award and the Long Life Design Award. To this day, the Nychair X series continues to be manufactured in carefully selected production facilities in Japan.
