Description

Warm Nordic’s Swing rocking chair is Danish architect Hans Olsen’s elegant creation from the 1950s. Made of top-quality natural materials, the rocking chair boasts an airy, lightweight design that combines a simple, timeless frame in oak wood with a backrest in woven cane. The rocking chair sits quite low, but the high backrest makes the chair surely stand out in a room. The rocking chair is finished with a headrest and a seat cushion upholstered in Kvadrat’s high-quality wool blend fabric. Please note that because the backrest is made of natural rattan, the rocking chair should not be placed in direct sunlight or right next to a heat source such as a fireplace.

Hans Olsen

Hans Olsen (1919-1992) was a Danish furniture designer who is famous for his experiments with bent, laminated wood. Olsen was a student of the noted designer Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy, and he developed a distinctive style by combining classic references and organic lines with a touch of humour. The Balloon lounge chair, released in 1955, is a fine example of his work.
