Nedre Foss’ Monoblokk vase by the Norwegian duo Anderssen & Voll is a tribute to glass art and Nedre Foss’ core values, one of which is the aim to create strong and durable objects from just one material. The Monoblokk vase was made using sturdy silicate glass, which was moulded into a rectangular, block-like shape.
According to Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, the inspiration for the Monoblokk vase came from glass panels, aquariums and concrete road dividers. The wide and narrow shape provides support and an attractive frame for flowers and decorative branches, and when left empty, the Monoblokk vase can function as a minimalist glass sculpture.
