Description

Iittala's Leimu is a beautiful table lamp that combines two completely different materials in a fascinating way. The sturdy concrete base and impressive glass top, inspired by traditional lampshades, create a light where sensitivity meets strength.

The Leimu collection was designed by Norwegian-born Magnus Pettersen who drew inspiration from traditional lampshades as well as modern architecture. The warm light of Leimu creates a cosy ambience in any room, and the mouth-blown, tinted glass makes every luminaire unique. The Leimu lamps have been manufactured in Finland.

Magnus Pettersen

The Norwegian designer Magnus Pettersen (b. 1982) moved to London to study furniture design at Kingston University and got a MA in industrial design from Central Saint Martins. Since 2010 he has had an his own studio in London.

In his work he looks how very different materials or colors merge in an interesting and functional way. Pettersen gets inspired by the 1920’s glamour, mid-century simplicity and Scandinavian purity.
