Description

GUBI has launched the Daumiller armchair after a decades-long absence. Danish designer Rainer Daumiller originally got the idea for the charming wooden armchair back in the 1970s. Inspired by traditional milking stools and the iconic China chair by Hans J. Wegner, Daumiller wanted to create a chair that would be suitable for both children's play as well as for adult parties. The result was the sculptural, timeless, and beautiful Daumiller.

The Daumiller chair is made from a pine tree, with varying wood grain patterns that give each chair its unique look, different from all the other Daumiller chairs. Although the material may look hard to the eye, the chair is very pleasant to sit on. Rainer Daumiller didn’t want to use textile or upholstery in the chair at all but ensured its comfort of it in other ways: the seat is designed to fit ergonomically to the sitter’s body. The extremely comfortable chair is suitable for a dining chair or an office chair, but it also works in the living room as an armchair where to relax after a long day.
