Description

Northern's Circle is a beautiful pendant by Hannakaisa Pekkala, truly captivating in its understated elegance. The luminaire made of steel is surprisingly impressive yet still strictly simplistic: combining rigid geometric shapes, the lamp is at the same time fascinatingly graphic as well as sensuous and poetic.

Depending on the perspective and the positioning of the luminaire, the lamp always appears in a new way – in pairs or groups, the intersecting frames of the Circle pendants create ever-changing shapes that invite interpretation.

Hannakaisa Pekkala

Hannakaisa Pekkala is a Finnish designer known for her works that combine art and product design in an outstanding way. Pekkala, who studied at the Institute of Design & Fine Arts in Lahti, Finland, draws inspiration for her unique creations from the stark, stagnant landscape of Northern Finland as well as from the vibrant lifestyles of cities worldwide – contrasts fascinate Pekkala, which is strongly reflected in her simple and functional, yet always surprising works. In addition to running her own studio, Pekkala is also the CEO of UU Market, an online art gallery and store showcasing art by contemporary Finnish designers.
