Parola table lamp by FontanaArte is a collaboration between Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni from 1980. The sculptural Parola has been constructed by combining three different glass techniques: the dome-shaped, adjustable shade is opaline blown glass, the tube-shaped stem is clear borosilicate glass, and the base is formed by a natural crystal disc. Placed inside the transparent stem, a braided textile cord complements the design. Due to the hole in the lampshade, Parola provides direct light diagonally upward, and to other directions it casts a soft, dimmable light in amber.
