Description

Fredericia’s Corona chair is an iconic classic designed by Poul M. Volther in 1964. The legendary lounge chair with an unforgettable silhouette has also appeared in a vast number of films and music videos. The Corona chair consists of four elliptical seat pads and a sturdy matt chrome swivel base, exquisite both in form and function.

Originally also called “the floating chair”, Corona looks simultaneously sculptural yet airy, making it the perfect stand-out piece for both private living rooms and public lounge areas alike. Perfected with sumptuous high-quality leather, the Corona lounge chair is a masterpiece down to every detail.

Notes
Please note that genuine leather is a natural product. This means that the colour and texture may vary from product to product. In addition, semi-aniline leather will develop a patina over time and use.
Care instructions
Daily: Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth. Light stains: use a soft cloth, tightly wrung in water, which has been boiled and then cooled to room temperature. Often, it will be preferable to leave light stains to simply be absorbed into the naturally developing patina. Maintenance: you can use leather cleanser or cream. Fredericia recommends Leather Master Soft Cleanser and Leather Master Protection Cream Premium. This type of maintenance should be carried out 1-2 times a year.

Poul M. Volther

Poul M. Volther (1923-2001) was a Danish designer, who was a member of the FDB cooperative, whose aim was to create affordable furniture for everyday use.

Volther was a trained cabinetmaker and studied later at the Arts and Crafts School in Copenhagen. As a believer in functionalism, he avoided short-lived aesthetic styles and concentrated on simple manufacture of fine materials. His best known work is the Corona chair he designed in 1961. Still today around 3000 Corona chairs are sold annually.
