Description

Kay Bojesen's wooden year bird 2024 is called Flora. In 2023, Bojesen's fans voted on what the bird's colours should be the following year, and red was the winning hue. Year Bird takes its name from Greek mythology, where Flora was the goddess of spring and flowers – a delicate and beautiful world of shades that evokes blossoming springtime! In addition to the pale purple body, the bird has a classic yellow beak and a reddish head that adds a bit of contrast. The hand-painted Year Bird Flora is available only as a limited edition with each bird engraved with the year 2024.

Flora is part of Kay Bojesen's Songbird series. Inspired by the birds visiting his patio, Bojesen designed the original Songbirds in the 1950s and named them birds after his family members. After pictures of the cheerful beech birds were found in the family's old photo album, these feathered friends were added to the collection of Kay Bojesen's animal figurines. Released annually, the special-edition Bird of the Year is slightly smaller than the original Songbirds, but just as charming! One can just imagine it breaking out in song any second.
