Description

The Kahvi coffee cup is a minimalist ceramic cup designed and manufactured by Studio Nathalie L. The lovely matt texture and soft hue on the cup’s outer surface create an artisanal, inviting look; the inside is glazed. The 0.5 dl Kahvi cup is the ideal size for a double espresso and can be complemented with the Tassi saucer. Fun fact: Kahvi is actually the Finnish word for ”coffee”.

Hand-crafted in Finland, the Kahvi cup is a part of the Lokal Kollektion series by the Helsinki-based gallery Lokal. The collection consists of unique, locally-manufactured products made in small-scale production, many even by hand in the designers' own workshops.

Nathalie Lautenbacher

Nathalie Lautenbacher (b.1974) is a Finnish-French ceramicist. Lautenbacher studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and works today as a freelance designer and as a lecturer at Aalto University. Lautenbacher has got international recognition for her work and she has had exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. In her design she focuses on the aesthetics of everyday life.
