Tolix Chair A, known also as the Marais A Chair, is an indisputable icon of French design created by Xavier Pauchard in 1927. The chair is also part of the collections of several museums such as MoMA in New York and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
The trademark Tolix was registered already in 1927, and soon after, the brand's different models started spreading to factories, offices and hospitals. By the end of the 1950s, Tolix was producing over 60 000 units annually. Since then, Tolix furniture has become increasingly popular also in private use, nowadays gracing the homes of design enthusiasts around the world. Every Tolix piece is made in France.
