Description

Georg Jensen's Bernadotte tea cups are made of pure white porcelain and decorated with delicate grooves that characterize the entire Bernadotte series. The double-layer material of the earless mug keeps the drink hotter for longer while protecting your hand from the heat at the same time. The set includes two tea cups.

The Bernadotte collection is a true Scandinavian design icon, and even today one of the most popular Georg Jensen collections. The elegant collection is named after its original designer, the Swedish Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. The first products in the collection were designed in the 1930s when the design world was heavily influenced by the functionalist movement. Characteristic of both the era and the designer, Bernadotte beautifully combines practicality with clean-lined elegance. Sigvard Bernadotte

The Swedish prince Sigvard Bernadotte (1907-2002) was an internationally recognized designer, illustrator and industrial designer. In 1929 Bernadotte saw the exhibition of Gunnar Asplund in Stockholm which was the breakthrough of functionalism. This inspired Bernadotte to act by the ideals of the functional design. Shortly afterwards Bernadotte and Georg Jensen started a long cooperation, where functionalism was visible in modern silver objects.
