Description

Santa & Cole’s TMM floor Lamp is an unforgettable combination of pleasing visual aesthetics and excellent functionality. The clever luminaire, designed by Miguel Milá in 1961, disassembles a traditional floor lamp and reassembles it in an innovative way. The parchment shade and light source of the TMM floor lamp are detached from the wooden leg and can be slid up and down along and around the frame. Irresistibly elegant down to the last detail, the TMM floor lamp is a true masterpiece from the legendary designer, and its timelessly sophisticated look brings indisputable elegance to both home and public spaces alike.

Miguel Milá

Miguel Milá (1931–2024) is of the pioneers of modern Spanish design. He started his career in the 1950s when industrial design was just arriving in Spain. Milá’s work has many references to traditional techniques and old craftsmanship, but his designs are also characterized by a passion for new techniques and materials.

Besides being an independent designer, Milá was also one of the founders of the Spanish design company Tramo. His most famous pieces include the simplistic TMC and TMM lamps as well as the atmospheric Cesta and Cestita lamps, all designed around the 1960s and still being sold today. In 1987, Milá was awarded the Spanish Premio Nacional de Diseño prize, and in 2008 he received the Compasso d’Oro award.
