HAY's Nelson Angled Sphere Bubble pendant has an angular rounded silhouette that is created by spraying a translucent plastic polymer over a steel-wire frame. This allows the pendant to emit a soft, diffused light that creates an inviting atmosphere in any room. The Nelson Angled Sphere Bubble luminaire is a stylish illuminator suited for various spaces in homes, cafés, hotels as well as offices.
The small Nelson Angled Sphere Bubble is part of a lighting series designed by George Nelson and produced by Herman Miller in the 1950s. Nelson wanted to purchase a similar Swedish lamp made of silk, but instead, opted for designing his own version of the pendant to save time and money. The lamps in the collection are still manufactured at the same factory that originally started manufacturing them in 1952.
