Description

Published by Taschen, Le Corbusier provides a compact insight into the career of Le Corbusier, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. French-born Le Corbusier (1887–1965) became known for his ability to combine functionalism with expressionism, as well as visions of entire concepts of modern living. Written by French architect and architectural historian Jean-Louis Cohen, the book is part of Taschen's Basic Architecture series that presents life and work of internationally renowned architects with approximately 120 photographs, sketches and drafts. The series has been edited by German art historian Peter Gössel.

Even in his unrealised projects, Le Corbusier redefined modern living, synthesising functionalism, expressionism, and expansive urban thinking from Switzerland to Chandigarh, India. This book provides a succinct introduction to his trailblazing ideas, writings, and buildings, which continue to resonate and influence to this day.
