Designer
Rikke Frost (b. 1973) is a Danish designer whose excitingly experimental and experiential works have attracted international interest. Frost’s designs are united by a passionate approach to different materials, shapes, and methods, and the unprejudiced and curious way of combining them.
Frost studied industrial design in Aarhus, Denmark, where she also founded her own studio in 2004, after spending several years working in London. Since then, Frost has also returned to the Aarhus School of Architecture – this time as a teacher.
Frost has collaborated with numerous renowned furniture manufacturers, such as Carl Hansen & Søn and Le Klint, and in addition to being quite popular, her designs have also been recognized with numerous awards and nominations. In 2019, Frost took part in the television program Danmarks næste klassiker, where top designers created furniture and lighting based on various tasks, in an effort to create new Danish design classics. The program featured, among other things, the first version of the Caleo luminaire, which Frost realized for lamp manufacturer LeKlint.
Frost's work has also been presented in numerous exhibitions, such as the Women in Danish Furniture Design exhibition at the Trapholt Museum of Modern Art and Design in Denmark.
