Carl Hansen & Søn's bench model BM0700, better known as Asserbo, is a perfect example of Danish designer Børge Mogensen's stringent design focusing on the object's usability. And no wonder, as Mogensen originally designed the bench for his own use! The bench is balanced and very well-proportioned with a slightly curved seat.
Børge Mogensen initially created the Asserbo series furniture in 1961 for his own holiday home in Asserbo, Denmark. Back then, the furniture was made of pine, but as reissued by Carl Hansen & Søn, the material has been changed to durable eucalyptus characterised by a refined wood grain pattern. What's more, the dark-oiled wood is decorated with brass screws. In addition to homes, the bench is perfect for restaurants and public spaces – wherever you might get together for a meal or a meaningful conversation.
The bench is made of responsibly grown eucalyptus and has been awarded the EU Ecolabel.
