Robert Heritage
Robert Heritage (1927–2008) was a post-war contemporary English artist and designer, best known for his innovative furniture and lighting designs. Born in Birmingham, he studied art in his hometown and later attended the Royal College of Art in London. After establishing his own studio in 1953, he became renowned for his directional spotlights, which were widely imitated and used around the world. In addition to his design work, Heritage also lectured in furniture design at the Royal College of Art and remains the most awarded designer in the history of the British organization Design Council.
