Description

The Random Light II pendant by Moooi is created with a fibreglass web randomly coiled in a spherical shape, making each lamp a unique piece. Despite the luminaire’s fairly large size, the transparent surface ensures a delicate and airy appearance. Therefore, Random Light II is very versatile – while it can create soft lighting in the bedroom, it is also sure to catch the eye in the living room or above the dining table. The lamp also adds a touch of contemporary style to public spaces like lobbies, restaurants and cafes.

A true Moooi classic, Bertjan Pot's Random Light has been part of the Belgian brand’s collection since 2001. The first Random Light pendants were created when Pot got the idea to wound resin-soaked yarn around an inflatable beach ball. After creating a sphere, Pot deflated the beach ball and took it out through a hole he left in the yarn ball. Made of fiberglass, the Random Light II is an upgraded version of the original Random Light from Bertjan Pot: a more user-friendly and durable, aesthetically perfected design.

Bertjan Pot

Dutch designer Bertjan Pot often begins his design process by experimenting with materials, often quite impulsively with little to no plans. Pot is often intrigued to see how things would work and what the materials, colours and shapes would look like. Bertjan Pot has collaborated with brands like Arco, Moooi, Nike and Cassina.
