Nis Øllgaard

The Danish designer Nils Øllgaard studied at the University for architecture and furniture design in Aarhus, Denmark. He has been working as an industrial designer since 1981. According to Øllgaard great design is made when form and function melt together in logical coherence. He considers it is important to determine the qualities of materials. In his opinion materials are those who create the function of the product and therefore producers should only use materials, that best fulfill the purpose of the products.

For something you use every day going out, this is a fantastic, well thought design piece. It is great ergonomically, it is a decent enough length for all heights to use, the material is durable yet it wont damage the walls or floors if the shoehorn falls on it. A perfect example of a well executed design. Buy this instead of cheap stuff that breaks. 5/5.
