Description

Vibia's Mayfair Mini table lamp is designer and artist Diego Fortunato's contemporary interpretation of classic 19th-century Bouillotte table lamps. Employing modern technology, the luminaire features an energy-efficient LED light source, an optical sensor in the base for effortless touch dimming and a rechargeable battery that allows the lamp to be moved around as needed. Despite its name, Mayfair Mini is by no means miniature-sized, just smaller than the original Mayfair lamp.

The light emitted by Mayfair Mini is mainly directed downwards, but thanks to the opening in the metal shade, some light also escapes up toward the ceiling. The lamp's colour temperature is a pleasant warm white, making it well suited for cosy mood lighting on a nightstand or windowsill. Mayfair Mini is also easy to envision in various public settings, such as an atmospheric restaurant or bar. And even a patio or balcony, as the lamp is also suitable for outdoor use. The Mayfair lamp collection was awarded the Good Design Award in 2017.

Diego Fortunato

Diego Fortunato is an internationally known and acclaimed designer and artist focusing on industrial design and concept art. Born in Argentina, Fortunato founded his own design agency in 1995 in Barcelona and another office in 2011 in London. From 2012 to 2019, he was the artistic director of the Coll & Cortés gallery and from 2015 to 2019 also the Conalghi gallery.

As a self-taught multi-talent, Fortunato regards his approach to art and design as free from rules and the shackles they create. This is manifested in his way of allowing ideas to flow freely between different projects: the same concept may also work in another form in another assignment. His portfolio consists of lighting design, art installations, graphic design and branding. In Fortunato's own words, everything he does is about finding meaning, beauty and fun regardless of the project at hand.
