Designer
Aiayu, founded in 2005 by Danish designer Maria Høgh Heilmann, creates timeless and durable textiles with respect for the environment, the artisans and the users of their products. The name Aiayu comes from the indigenous Bolivian language Aymara; the Aymaran word aiayu means "soul". According to Aiayu's ideology, aesthetic values and quality materials are important in luxury products, but just as important are the origins and production methods as well as their environmental impact. Aiayu believes that taking these values into account is what truly makes a product luxurious.
