Marimekko's Neat Crossbody Unikko shoulder bag is adorned with the iconic floral print by Maija Isola. Made from recycled polyester, the small bag features a zip closure, an adjustable strap crafted from recycled polyamide, and a bold Marimekko logo label on the front alongside a zippered pocket. The crossbody bag also includes a small interior pocket where the entire bag can be folded for easy storage – a compact and practical choice for travel or everyday use!
The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola did not accept rules or restrictions and designed in protest a complete collection of bold floral patterns: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and is recognized worldwide.
