Mater
Mater is a Danish design brand that emphasises timeless design, exquisite craftsmanship as well as sustainable and ethical production methods. The name Mater, Latin for mother, refers to the company’s aim, as a manufacturer, to minimise its environmental impact on Mother Earth. Mater was founded by Henrik Marstrand in 2006 and selected as the Best Debut Design Brand by Wallpaper* in 2008.

Mater’s lights and furniture feature simple and organic design, calm colour palette and genuine, high-quality materials. The majority of their products are crafted from FSC certified wood. The creatives behind the collection are both Danish and international designers, including Space Copenhagen, Maija Puoskari, Søren Rose ja Todd Bracher.
