Javier Mariscal

Javier Mariscal (b.1950) is a Spanish graphic designer and furniture designer. Mariscal studied philosophy at the University of Valencia before he started studying graphic design at Escuela de Grafismo Eliasava in Barcelona. He has mainly worked as a graphic designer but also also as a painter. 

In 1973 Mariscal joined the underground comic group ”El Rollo Enmascarado”. Until 1975 he lived in Ibiza drawing comics and he also designed his first furniture there. In 1976 Mariscal returned to Barcelona, where he started working as a freelance graphic designer and designer. Mariscal’s design can be seen in several prestigious museums and he has also won several awards. His design is funny and they resemble cartoons.
