Description

DiningTable by Harri Koskinen exudes the simplistic Nordic elegance that is characteristic of the Finnish designer’s signature style. The wooden dining table consists of angled legs carrying an oak wood table top with sides narrower than the centre, adding a delicate, graceful touch to the minimalist design. The classic, unassuming look makes the wooden table well suited for a variety of interiors – it is perfect for infusing any dining space with a lovely dose of Nordic flair.

Originally designed in 2009 and slightly updated in 2015, DiningTable is part of the esteemed designer's own furniture collection, which bears the name Harri Koskinen Works. The table is made in Finland.

Harri Koskinen

Harri Koskinen (b. 1970) is a versatile Finnish designer who has studied at the Lahti Institute of Design and at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. His international breakthrough was in 1996 with the Block lamp, which is already considered a Scandinavian design classic and has been part of the MoMA’s permanent collection since 2000.

Koskinen’s creations include a wide range of different products – furniture, tableware, glassware, lighting, watches, textiles and much more – designed for world-renowned brands. Some of his best-known products are the candleholder Lantern and the All Steel pot series designed for Iittala, the K chair for Woodnotes, and a series of active speakers for Genelec.

At the Milan International Furniture Fair 2009, Koskinen presented his own brand Harri Koskinen Works, under which he produces his own furniture range. Koskinen’s design is characterized by functionality and strict aesthetic criteria – he is always looking for innovative solutions for both the consumer and the producer. Since 2012, Koskinen has been the Design Director of Iittala.

Koskinen has received prestigious awards for his works, including the Compasso d’Oro Award 2004 for his Muu chair, the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize 2009, the Wallpaper Design Award for his Sofabed in 2010, and the Kaj Franck Design Prize 2014.
