Massproductions’ Sander side table, designed by Chris Martin, is a small glass table that consists of a mouth-blown cone-shaped base and a round table top made of hardened furniture glass. Despite the simple geometric shape, designing the side table required close cooperation with glass blowers. Chris Martin has said about the design process: “Glass is a fascinating material – clear, pure and uncomplicated visually. But when you get into the process of working with it, it’s incredibly complicated. There are many rules and restrictions, so I wanted to play with contrast of how it looks so simple but needs a lot of precision in the production process.”
