The Moomin plate set, containing plates Yellow and Hurray!, are based on Moomin mug illustrations no longer in production. The collector’s edition plates will only be available for a limited time.
The illustration of Hurray! depicts residents of Moominvalley frolicking in the park. The illustration was first launched as a mug in 2012. In Yellow, Moominmamma can be seen keeping busy with a bright yellow background. The mug with the same illustration was originally launched in 1990.
Tove Slotte (b.1957) is a Finnish illustrator and graphical designer. Before becoming a designer she studied ceramics. Slotte worked at the Finnish design company Arabia 1985-1990 an today she works as a freelance designer. She is known for illustrating the popular Moomin-products of Iittala and Arabia. She picks up the themes from the original drawings of Tove Jansson and modifies them to fit the products.
