Carl Hansen & Søn's table model BM0698, better known as Asserbo, is a perfect example of Danish designer Børge Mogensen's stringent design focusing on the object's usability. And no wonder, as Mogensen originally designed the table for his own use! The minimalist wooden table boasts a laid-back, rugged aesthetic that nods to classic Shaker-style furniture.
Børge Mogensen initially created the Asserbo series furniture in 1961 for his own holiday home in Asserbo, Denmark. Back then, the furniture was made of pine, but as reissued by Carl Hansen & Søn, the material has been changed to durable eucalyptus characterised by a refined wood grain pattern. What's more, the dark-oiled wood is decorated with brass screws at both ends of the table. In addition to homes, the dining table is perfect for restaurants and public spaces – wherever you might get together for a meal or a meaningful conversation.
The table is made of responsibly grown eucalyptus and has been awarded the EU Ecolabel.
