The designer has said: ''I was inspired by an element, windsock, which you see on boats. I also wanted a cute name for the lamp, one that would make you think right away of the sea because it is inspired by the world of sailing. Binic is a name of a little lighthouse on the coast of Brittany.''

Designer
Ionna Vautrin was born in 1979 in France. She graduated from the school of Design of Nantes Atlantiques in 2002 and these days she works and lives in Paris.
Since 2002 Vautrin has worked with many well known brands over the Europe and developed her own projects with many different companies like Foscarini, Moustache and Super-ette. In 2011 Vautrin established her own studio and received the Grand Prize of the creations of the city of Paris.
