Margaret Howell
Margaret Howell is a renowned British fashion designer who has worked in the fashion world for over five decades. Howell studied fine arts at Goldsmiths’ College in London and began her career making her own jewellery and accessories, which were spotted by the fashion magazine Vogue. In 1976, Howell and Joseph Ettedgui founded a menswear shop in London, and her first independently owned shop opened in 1980. Today, Howell’s clothes are sold around the world, and the brand has flagship stores in London, Paris, Florence and Tokyo. In 2007, Howell was awarded the title of Royal Designer for Industry, and in 2010 she received an honorary doctorate from the University of the Arts, London.
