Description

The elegant Siesta armchair was designed by Carl-Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs in 1952. The chair catches the eye with its sculptural silhouette featuring a high backrest and slanted wooden legs. The frame is made of a single sheet of pressed plywood, and the upholstery of the back is finished off with decorative buttons. The Siesta armchair was introduced at the Milan Triennial in 1957 and originally manufactured by Hiort af Ornäs’ own factory Puunveisto Oy in Helsinki, Finland. Today, the chair is available as a reissue.
